# How to Accept Badges?

Digital badges are handed out to acknowledge your accomplishments, which may be completing a lab, a Course or a set of courses. These are online representations of your achievements. Challenge Labs digital badges provide increased value by enabling interested parties to view and learn more about the credentials with a single-select.

Each Challenge Labs badge image contains personalized metadata which tie the badge to your personal certification achievement hosted on Credly’s platform.

## Sharing your badge

Your Challenge Labs badge can be used to highlight your Achievements across multiple media and all major social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

Sharing your Challenge Labs badge is a great way to develop your professional brand and let everyone know that you’ve completed a Hands-on lab learning experience in your technical area. You can begin sharing from Credly’s platform once your Badges are accepted and your account is created.

You will receive an email notifying you to claim your badge on the website of Credly, our badging partner.

### What is an open badge?

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

### How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through the company’s platform. The technology Credly uses on its platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

### What are the benefits of a badge?

Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you are now capable of. Credly’s platform also offers labor market insights, based on your skills. You can search and apply for job opportunities right through the platform.

### Who is Credly?

Credly is the end-to-end solution for issuing and managing digital credentials. Credly works with credible Organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals, worldwide.

### How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

### What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Credly platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

### Is there a fee to use Credly’s platform?

No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.

### What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly’s platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

### Where and how can I share my badge through Credly’s platform?

You can share your badge directly from the platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.

### What are labor market insights and how can I access them through Credly’s platform?

Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few steps through the platform. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on **Related Jobs**, or by clicking on the **skill tags** assigned to your badge.

### Can I export badges issued through Credly’s platform to other badge-storing platforms?

Yes, you can download your badge from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows you to store your badge on other OBI-compliant badge Sites, such as the Mozilla backpack.

### Can I import badges issued from other platforms into Credly’s platform?

Not at this time.

### Can I opt out of getting badges?

Yes, log into your Skillable **user account**, select on the **Achievements** icon in the upper right and select **I do not want to**Participate in Achievements.

Bundles together content to then be set up for training through classes, subscriptions, and course assignments. Courses can include labs, videos, SCORM, LTI, external links, assessments, and documents. Courses must be assigned to a Content Provider and a Publishing Group to be available to set up for training.

Achievements are a feature to recognize an accomplishment with the TMS. An achievement is automatically triggered by an action being completed in the platform, such as, a user launched a lab, completed a lab, completed a course or a set of courses. An achievement can be associated with a badge so that the badge is automatically assigned when the task is completed.

Hands-on labs are cloud-based environments where learners engage with technology, software, and tools. By manipulating and practicity directly, users gain valuable skills. These labs are widely used for training, certification, and skill development across various domains.

Badges are digital credential for completing a class or a course which can be assigned manually on the class roster or course assignment. When paired with an Achievement the badge can be automatically triggered by a set of actions such as completing a course or launching a lab. Badges are provided through Credly/Acclaim and can be shared on social media or as email signatures.

Organizations are the containers in which all objects in Skillable Studio reside. Each organization has two child orgs, Development and Production. Development is used for content creation and testing. Production is used only for content that is ready for consumption. Organizations also provide one of the security boundaries within the Skillable Studio platform.

A site designates the organization's URL and a single site can be used by multiple organizations. It controls the look like colors and logo as well as other options for the login page, contact page, top navigation links, required registration fields, and footer.

Participate in achievements is an option on the user profile allowing the user to opt in or out of earning achievements.
