# Attending Classes

The intention of this article is to provide further information to students and instructors of classes on accessing virtual classrooms as well as printing Course Completion Certificates at the conclusion of Classes.

## Access a Virtual Classroom?

Entering your virtual classroom may vary slightly depending on the set up and virtual meeting host used by the organization running the Class.

### Student Access

You will access your classroom from your Class Enrollment page.

From your **Current Training** page, under **Classes**, select the name of the class to open your **Class Enrollment** page.

1. If you see an **Enter Classroom** button, click it.
  - Load any software required.
  - You might be required wait in a lobby before being admitted into the classroom.
2. If you see the **Get Ready** box,

Under the Pre-Class Preparation, you may see a countdown timer 8 hours before the class starts showing how long it will be before the virtual classroom can be launched. The Enter Classroom button will be available before class starts.
  - View the **Software Check** section, verify that the **Virtual Classroom Environment** has a green checkmark indicating that your computer has the software needed to launch your virtual classroom.
  - Select **Enter Configuration Room** next to **Test Virtual Classroom**. This will allow you to check your audio settings to ensure you are ready for class when it starts.
  - Select the checkbox to verify you have successfully entered the configuration room.
  - Select **Enter Classroom** to enter your classroom.

### Instructor Access

As an instructor you can access the virtual classroom prior to class, but the amount of time before class starts is set by the Organization running the class. It may be anywhere from 1 to 60 hours before class.

When an integrated virtual meeting host, either Adobe Connect or Zoom, is being used, a countdown timer will appear 48 hours before you can open the virtual classroom, showing how long it will be before the virtual classroom can be launched.

You will access the classroom from the Class page:

1. Select **My Calendar** at the top of any window. This will open up your **Instructor Calendar**.
2. Find your class in the calendar.
3. Select the class name to open the Class page.
4. Select the **Enter Classroom** button.

## Print My Completion Certificate

If your class or course assignment has completion certificates and you have the required permissions, you can print your completion certificate.

### Find Your Certificate

Training certificates are located on your account page under "My Transcripts". Not all training Organizations utilize our site for hosting completion certificates. If you are unable to locate your transcripts, please ensure your training is marked as "Complete". If there is no Training Certificate under "My Transcripts", please reach out to your training organization for assistance.

### Print Your Certificate

Completion certificates can be printed after the class is over and you have been marked complete on the class roster or you have completed a Course Assignment.

To print the completion certification:

1. Select **My Transcript** in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
2. Select the icon for the certificate, to the right of the class or course assignment name.
3. In the **Choose Course Certificate Template** dialog, select the certificate you want to print and select **OK**.

This will download a pdf of the certificate. Open the file on your local system to print it.

If you do not have the permissions required to print your completion certificate, please reach out to your learning organization for assistance.

Bundles together content to then be set up for training through classes, subscriptions, and course assignments. Courses can include labs, videos, SCORM, LTI, external links, assessments, and documents. Courses must be assigned to a Content Provider and a Publishing Group to be available to set up for training.

Completion certificates are uploaded by an organization to be distributed after a class is completed by the instructor, or can be downloaded by a student from their transcript when they have completed a course assignment or have a completion status of complete from a class.

A class is a scheduled instructor-led event with a start and end time/date. Typically, these include lectures and hands on activities such as labs.

An enrollment is the student registration for a class. Enrollments have multiple statuses, but only the Enrollment Status of Enrolled gives a student access to class. Within the enrollment the student will access the labs and activities and if set up digital courseware and virtual classroom for their class.

An organization is assigned to each entity in the TMS, such as, users, classes, subscriptions, and courses. The organization is a basis to determine access given based on roles within the organization and management over the organization.

Organizations are the containers in which all objects in Skillable Studio reside. Each organization has two child orgs, Development and Production. Development is used for content creation and testing. Production is used only for content that is ready for consumption. Organizations also provide one of the security boundaries within the Skillable Studio platform.

A course assignment delivers self-paced access to a course. A course is assigned to a student giving immediate access to the student. It can be accessed at any time for the duration of the assignment. The assignment duration begins and is billed when it is created.
