# Enrolling Multiple Students

There are a couple of tools in the Skillable TMS you can use to register students. The class roster is the one that lets you create multiple registrations all at once while the Create Multiple Enrollments tool lets you add Enrollments to one or more Classes for one or more students. Several different registration statuses exist to help you track whether the student should be granted access to a class.

### Use Create Multiple Enrollments

Using Create Multiple Enrollments has the flexibility to let you enroll one student in multiple classes, multiple students into one class, or multiple students into multiple classes. When creating multiple enrollments, successful and failed enrollments are listed after the registrations are saved; the tool checks if the user is already registered for a class or if there will be a schedule conflict, either of these conflicts will cause a registration to fail.

1. On the **Admin** menu in the **Enrollments** group, select **Create Multiple Enrollments** to open the Enroll Students page.
2. Select **Add Events** to open the class chooser.
3. Input part of the name of a class you want in the **Name** field and select **Search** and select the class name in the search results, repeat until you have chosen all the classes you want to enroll all the students in, then select **OK**.
4. Select **Add Students** to open the user chooser.
5. Input part of the name of a student you want in the **Name** field and select **Search** and select the student's name in the search results, repeat until you have chosen all the students you want to enroll in all the classes you have selected, then select **OK**.
6. Registered students default to the Waitlisted status, change this to **Enrolled** as needed.
7. Select **Save** and view the links to the completed enrollments and any failed enrollments at the bottom of the page.

### To Create Multiple Enrollments from the Roster:

1. On the **Admin** menu in the **Classes** group, select **Find Classes**. This opens the Find Classes page.
2. Input part of the name of the class you want in the **Name** field and select **Search**.
3. Find the class in the search results, and on the class's row select the **Roster** link (the icon of 2 students) on the right.
4. On the **Roster** page, select **Add Students**. This opens the Choose User dialog.
5. Input part of the name of a student, select **Search**.
6. Check the box next to the student to enroll.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to search for and select all of your students for class.
8. Once all the students have been selected, select **OK**.
9. All students will be added to the Roster with the status of Enrolled. Change the enrollment status to **Requested**.
10. Select **Save** to add them to the class.

Adding students to class it is best to set the Enrollment Status to Requested. Then when the students show up for the class, mark them Enrolled. If they do not show up, mark them Cancelled. Note that we use the Enrolled status to trigger billing for lab usage. Therefore, after a class begins the system will not permit the Enrollment Status of **Enrolled** to be changed. But you can change the **Requested** status to another status.

Students' enrollment statuses will need to be changed to Enrolled or Cancelled after the class starts.

Students must be in the status of Enrolled to be able to launch their labs when class starts.

An enrollment is the student registration for a class. Enrollments have multiple statuses, but only the Enrollment Status of Enrolled gives a student access to class. Within the enrollment the student will access the labs and activities and if set up digital courseware and virtual classroom for their class.

A class is a scheduled instructor-led event with a start and end time/date. Typically, these include lectures and hands on activities such as labs.
