Some Skillable organizations and learning partners provide lab codes, or Training Keys, to unlock access to labs for their users. As a student who has been given a code to access your labs, you should also have received a URL for the site where you will log in or create your user account. If you do not have a code or have not been given credentials to log in, please contact your learning organization. ## Best Practices for Redeeming Lab Codes - When redeeming a lab code, ensure that copied codes do not have spaces before or after the code. - Codes are case sensitive and will not work if not copied exactly as shown. - If a code is entered incorrectly three times, you will be redirected back to the login page to restart the registration process. - A code can only be redeemed on the same account once. If you have previously redeemed the code on your user account, do not attempt to redeem the code again by creating a new account. You will not have access to previous work from the new account. - If you continue to receive an error when redeeming a code, please reach out to your learning organization to ensure that the code you received is a valid code. ## Accessing Labs using a Lab Code without a User Account If you are a new user to the Skillable Training Management System (TMS), you will need a user account to access your labs using your lab code. There are two ways to create a user account from the login page: Creating an account using the **Create a User Account** link or redeeming your lab code by using the **Register with Training Key** button. The login page for the site you are given will have a **Sign In** button and may have either a **Create a user account** link or a **Register with Training Key** button. Directions may differ slightly depending on which items you see on your login page. There are also options to create an account through your Microsoft or Google logins. #### Site has a link to **Create a user account** A **Create an Account** link may be found on the login page under the **Sign In** button. 1. Fill in all the fields to register and select **Save**. 2. This will open a **Current Training** page. Select **Redeem Training Key**. 3. Input the code you received and select **Redeem Training Key**. 4. This will open your course assignment or class enrollment. For a class enrollment your labs display under the **Activities** section, and for a course assignment your labs will display on the table of contents. 5. Select **Launch** beside the lab you want to start. #### Site has a button to Register with Training Key A **Register with Training Key** button may be found on the login page next to the **Sign in** button. 1. Select the **Register with Training Key** button on the **Sign in** page. 2. Input the code you received into the dialog box and select **Register**. 3. Fill in all the fields to register and select **Save**. 4. This will open your course assignment or class enrollment. For a class enrollment your labs display under the **Activities** section, and for a course assignment your labs will display on the table of contents. Once you have an account and have redeemed your lab code, you will no longer need the code to login or register. You will logon with your username and password at the same URL as before. This opens the **Current Training page**; select on the course name to return to your labs. ## Accessing Labs using a Lab Code with an Existing User Account If you have an existing account in the Skillable Training Management System, you will not need to create a new account to redeem your lab code. On the URL provided to you: 1. Select the **Sign in** button. 2. Choose your login method and follow the prompts if you are using an alternate platform for authentication. 3. If you are using a Skillable account for authentication, under the **Sign in with your username** heading, enter your **username** and **password**, and select **Sign in**. 4. This opens **My Training** page. Select Redeem **Training Key**. 5. Enter the lab code, or training key, that you received, and select **Redeem Training Key**. Your training assignment will open. 6. Select **Launch** next to the lab you want to start. In these cases, you will not have a lab code to redeem to access your labs. To access your labs for a class, 1. Go to the **URL** provided by your organization. 2. Select the **Sign in** button. 3. Select your login method and follow the prompts to access the platform. 4. Alternatively, if you are using a Skillable user account, the under the **Sign in with your username** heading, enter your **Username** and **Password** and select **Sign in**. 5. This opens your **My Training** page. Select on the name of the course/class you are taking. 6. Under the **Activities** section, select **Launch** beside the lab you want to start. A training key is a code given to students to be admitted to training and can also be used for them to create their own user accounts. Training keys can be used to create class enrollments, course assignments or subscription assignments.
