# How Do I Change a Password?

Once you are logged into the Skillable Training Management System (TMS), you may change your password from your User Profile. If you log in using an external authentication provider, you must update your password through that provider.

## Change Password

1. In the top right corner of any page, select **your name** to open a menu and choose **View Account**
2. On your **User Profile** page, select **Change Password**
3. In the dialog that opens, enter a password of your choice in the **New Password** and **Confirm Password** fields.

Password Complexity Requirements

  - 8 characters
  - 1 number
  - 1 letter
  - 1 lower-case letter
  - 1 special character
4. Select **OK**
5. Select **OK** to close the dialog stating that your password was successfully changed

**Please note:** Your password can be changed in Skillable Studio, using the same steps.

The user profile contains information about the user and their preferences, including roles, managed organizations, and settings.
