# How to Reset my Password?

This article will provide the information on how to login to the Skillable TMS user account through the Skillable TMS platform to access and manage your online Course and labs. The processes will explain how to change or reset a password.

## Best Practices for Resetting your Password

- It's recommended to reset a password through email by sending a temporary link that will expire after a short period of time and requires the user to create a new password.

## Password Reset through Email

If the user has forgotten their password, they can easily initiate the password reset process through the Login Assistance page. Once they initiate the login assistance steps, an automated email will be sent to the primary email address they provided. This email will contain a password reset link.

1. From a Skillable site **login page**, select the **Sign In** button. This opens a page with different sign in options.
2. Select the **Reset Password** link below the Email or Username field. Alternatively, you can directly access the Login Assistance page by going to your site URL followed by /User/LoginAssistance. For example, https://[yoursitename].learnondemand.net/User/LoginAssistance.
3. On the Login Assistance page, enter the **primary email address** associated with your user account. If you cannot remember your primary email, please contact your Organization's administrator or open a support ticket using the link at the bottom of the page.
4. Select the **Send Instructions** button. Once you have completed these steps, you will receive an automated email containing a password reset link.
5. Next, access your **email inbox** and open the password reset **email** you received.
6. Select the **password reset link** provided in the email. This will redirect you to the password reset page.
7. On the password reset page, enter your **new password** in the designated field. 8 **Confirm the new password** by re-entering it in the confirmation field.
8. Select the **OK** button to finalize the password reset.

## Password Reset on a User Profile

If the user has already logged into the Skillable TMS, they can change their password directly from their user profile.

1. In the top right corner of any page, select **your name** to expand the user menu, and choose **View Account**.
2. On the User Profile page, select **Change Password**.
3. In the dialog that opens, enter a password of the user's choice in the **New Password** and **Confirm Password** fields.
4. Select **OK**.
5. Now the user can close the dialog by selecting **OK** again to confirm that their password was successfully changed.

## Password Complexity Requirements

To ensure the security of the user's account, passwords must meet the following complexity requirements:

- Minimum of 8 characters in length.
- Must include at least 1 number.
- Must include at least 1 letter.
- Must include at least 1 lower-case letter.
- Must include at least 1 special character.
