# Scaling Azure Resources

Microsoft Azure has resource capacity limitations that should be considered in advance of training events or classes, to avoid running into limitations during the use of the Cloud Slice lab. After the class or event is scheduled, it is a good idea to estimate the amount of resources that will be needed during the event based on the number of lab users and the amount of resources that each lab user will need.

A support request must be made to Microsoft to adjust the amount of resources that are available to use in the Azure Subscription. Depending on the resources requested, the region requested and severity of the request, it may take an extended amount of time for the support request to be fulfilled by Microsoft. To learn more about Azure quotas, select here [Azure Quotas](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-subscription-service-limits).

Requests are typically fulfilled by Microsoft within a few hours, depending on the amount of resources requested and the region requested. In some cases, it can take Microsoft several days or weeks to fulfill some requests, based on demand for the resources requested.

6. Select **Quota type**. For example, you can choose Cores to increase the number of CPU cores that you want to be able to support in each region. See [Azure Quota Types](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-stack/azure-stack-quota-types) for more information.

Microsoft's public cloud computing platform.

Cloud Slice is Skillable's proprietary technology that enables you to take a single cloud subscription and provide isolated access to a high volume of users at a single time.

A subscription is an assignment to an individual for access to a set of courses for a set amount of time for self-paced access. Students can choose which courses to access from the subscription, which then open as a course assignment, and they can access the courses at any time for the duration of the subscription.
