Troubleshooting Bulk Skill Tagging Uploads

Prev Next

Overview

This article helps you resolve common issues when uploading CSV files for Bulk Skill Tagging. It explains each error message, what it means, and how to fix it. During this process, your existing lab profile skills are never removed or overwritten.

Additive-Only Uploads

Bulk Skill Tagging via CSV upload is additive only.

When you upload a CSV, the platform adds new skills to each lab profile's existing skill set. No skills are removed or replaced. If a row fails to process (for example, due to an invalid **LabProfileId **or Skill_ID), the skills already assigned to that lab profile remain unchanged.

Tip

If you encounter errors, you do not need to re-upload the entire file. Simply fix the rows with errors and upload just those rows. This saves time and prevents successful updates from being repeated.

Troubleshooting Checklist

Missing Columns Error
Re-export the template from the Bulk Tag Skills page and copy your data into the new file. Do not rename or remove any columns from the template.

Access Denied
Check your permissions for both the lab profiles and the skill framework. You may need additional access rights to perform bulk tagging.

Skills Not Appearing After Upload
Confirm Skill_IDs are valid and match those in the framework CSV. Double-check for typos or extra spaces.

Large File Uploads
If you have a very large file, consider splitting it into smaller batches for easier troubleshooting and faster error correction.

File Type Issues
Ensure your file is saved as a CSV (.csv) and not another format like Excel (.xlsx).
