Overview
Skillable AI is a suite of integrated tools that support lab authoring, automation, and learner engagement across the Skillable platform. The AI suite includes:
Lab authoring tools for script generation, instructional drafting, and automated validation
Learner-facing tools that provide dynamic guidance, chat-based interaction, and on-demand practice
Flexible model options, including Skillable-provided models and Bring Your Own (BYO) model support
Together, these capabilities enable organizations to streamline lab development while delivering interactive, adaptive learning experiences.
Skillable AI Model Options and Usage
Skillable AI supports both the Skillable pre-integrated model and the Bring Your Own (BYO) AI model:
Skillable pre-integrated model: This model is included in the Skillable AI base package. Usage is tracked according to packaging and is subject to defined usage limits.
BYO model: This model allows your organization to connect its own AI models. With the BYO model, no Skillable usage limits apply, and you have more flexibility over custom model control. However, your organization is responsible for third-party model costs.
All Skillable AI tools support model selection when configured.
The Skillable AI base package includes access to the full suite of Skillable AI capabilities. Usage add-ons are available for customers using Skillable pre-integrated models beyond the included usage limits. Usage is tracked when using Skillable-hosted models. BYO model usage is not billed by Skillable.

Lab Authoring Tool
AI Content Assistant helps authors draft and refine lab instructions directly within the Instructions Editor. Use it to generate new instructional content, improve clarity and structure, reduce required Markdown knowledge, and maintain consistency across labs.
Content Assistant supports prompt-based generation and editing workflows.
AI Practice Generator
Learner-Led Tool
AI Practice Generator enables learners to create additional hands-on scenarios during an active lab session. Learners provide prompts, and the system generates new practice instructions within the current environment. Use Practice Generator to reinforce skills, encourage experimentation, and extend learning beyond structured tasks.
Scripting Co-Pilot
Lab Authoring Tool
Scripting Co-Pilot uses generative AI to help create automated activity scripts. Use it to generate scripted or scored lab activities, reduce manual scripting effort, lower the technical barrier for automation, and accelerate build time.

AI Menu embeds topic-based prompts directly in lab instructions. Use it to streamline lab instruction authoring and to provide structured, on-demand guidance within labs.

AI Generated Content
Lab Authoring Tool
AI Generated Content inserts structured tags (ai teach, ai show, ai quiz, ai resources) that automatically generate formatted instructional content, including teaching text, step-by-step instructions, quiz questions, or resource suggestions.
Use this feature to rapidly author or expand instructional content while maintaining structure and consistency.
