The Degreed Connector has been developed as a tightly coupled integration between the Degreed platform and Skillable Labs. This custom connector allows Degreed customers to be easily configured to receive a daily catalog of updated labs that is used to automatically create and maintain courses on the Degreed platform. It also allows Degreed customer's users to launch labs directly from courses and receive basic completion records. This article will outline the information and steps required to configure the Degreed Connector.
Configuration of the Degreed Connector within the Degreed platform requires an administrative role. Contact your company Administrator or Technical Administrator to discuss your Degreed requirements.
Required Degreed Connector Information
The Degreed Connector has been designed to be as simple to configure and use as possible. To ensure that configuration is completed properly Skillable will require the following information:

Setting up the Degreed Connector
The Degreed Connector is intended to be a tight integration between your company and Skillable through the Degreed platform. This integration provides Daily Catalog, Lab Launch, and Lab Completion services with a seamless experience. Configuration of these services is simple and straightforward.
Setting up the Daily Catalog
The Degreed Connector is designed to provide a daily catalog of the curated labs for your company which are encapsulated within Courses on the Degreed platform. The Catalog configuration for the Degreed Connector is performed within the Skillable Insights interface and maintained by Skillable administrators.
When your company signs up for the Degreed Connector you will be asked to provide your Degreed Customer Id. If you do not know your Degreed Customer Id you can request this from your Degreed representative.
Customer Id
The Degreed Customer Id is also displayed as the numeric valuein the Browser URL Address when logged in to the Manage section of Degreed as an administrator,
Setting up the Lab Launch
The daily catalog provided by the Degreed Connector Catalog service creates and maintains your company's curated list of labs and is responsible for creating and updating the Courses on the Degreed platform. These courses contain the link used to launch the associated Skillable labs.
In order for the course links to the Skillable labs to be enabled a one-time setup of the Single-Sign-On (SSO) authentication needs to be completed during the initial configuration of the Degreed Connector. Ask your Degreed representative to provide the Degreed SAML Metadata URL to your Skillable account team.
Authentication Setup
Setting up any authentication configuration can take some time. Please allow a couple of days for both Degreed and Skillable to complete your SSO configuration.
Setting up the Lab Completion
The Degreed Connector provides verified completions when a Skillable lab is ended by a user. This service is accomplished using the Degreed Completions API which requires the use of a Degreed Provider Key. Your company administrator can create a Provider Key using these steps:
Log in to your Degreed Instance with an Administrative Account.
Using the four-box icon at the top right select the Manage {instance} option.
In the top menu select Settings and then select API Keys from the Settings menu.
To display the Create New API Key dialog select the + Create New button.
Add a descriptive name in the Name field.
Name Suggestion
It is a good idea to include Skillable and/or Degreed Connector in the name to ensure that it is easily identified.
Select the Skillable provider from the list of providers.
Caution
The name of the provider for your company may be different. If you are unsure, contact your Skillable or Degreed representative to confirm the most appropriate value to use.
To enable the use of the Completions API, in the Scopes list select the Read and Write values for the Completions option and then select Save.
Once the API Key is created an informational dialog will be displayed. Provide Skillable with both the Client Id and the Client Secret using a secure transfer method like Password Pusher or another secure method.
Client Secret
This is the only time that the Client Secret will be displayed. Record the Client Secret in a secure location for future reference.
