Studio Enhancements

Lab profiles: The Products page now includes a Type column that clearly labels products as Global or Custom, making it easier to understand what’s available to your organization. Users can quickly sort and filter by product type, which improves clarity, reduces errors, and speeds up product selection.

TMS Enhancements

User access: Unauthenticated users who click the Help link are now redirected to the main TMS documentation page, ensuring the link functions reliably even when users aren't logged in.

Release Highlights

Lab profiles: A new Product field in Skillable Studio lab profiles lets you tag labs with the technologies they cover—like AWS, Linux, or PowerShell. This enhancement boosts data consistency, discoverability, and reporting across your organization, helping you manage lab content more effectively and enabling learners to find the right training faster.

Integration Enhancements

LTI 1.3: Skillable now supports launching labs using the LTI 1.3 standard in Adobe Learning Manager, making it easier to connect and deliver labs directly from your LMS.

APIs: The lab APIs include associated Product details for lab profiles within the /Catalog, /LabProfile, /Details, and /LabInstance/Search endpoints.

TMS Enhancements

User security: End users now see a clear Access Denied message if their site or organization doesn’t allow anonymous registration, reducing user confusion.

Integration Enhancements

LTI 1.3

  • A user-friendly error page displays when launching a disabled lab, improving clarity for end users.
  • Enhanced deep linking support handles optional parameters not passed in the request, ensuring smoother integrations.

SCORM: A new Passed/Incomplete scoring option provides greater flexibility in supported scoring variations.

  • Lab authors can build instructions using a user-friendly visual editor with formatting tools, drag-and-drop tokens, spellcheck, and the ability to switch seamlessly between visual and code modes.
  • Learners can review instructions immediately while labs load, reducing downtime and keeping them engaged.

Lab client API: A new client-side API allows safe customization and automation within labs using JavaScript or iFrame integrations.

Temporary Access Pass (TAP): Azure Cloud Slice labs support Microsoft TAP, ensuring seamless MFA-compliant access ahead of Microsoft's September 2025 enforcement.

Release Highlights

Studio Enhancements

Product permissions: A new Product Permissions section in the permissions UI lets admins manage product-level access more clearly and consistently.

Skills Framework: The Skills Framework details page now shows the framework key alongside each skill name (e.g., [KEY]: [Skill Name], making it easier for lab developers to identify and manage skills.

End-of-lab reports: End-of-lab reports now only show skills from frameworks enabled for the organization, ensuring reports display only relevant skill data.

SCORM: SCORM package behavior updates include improved progress tracking accuracy. Completion is now based on defined criteria rather than being marked complete on viewing.

Users may need to re-download and upload the new SCORM package to their LMS.

Integration Enhancements

Tagging: Skill tags are now included in activity group reporting, along with a few additional endpoints that simplify reporting analysis and offer more robust reporting capabilities.

Instruction File Import tool: Lab authors can import Word, RTF, or Markdown files --including images-- directly into the Instructions Editor to save time.

  • Scrolling functionality for VM endpoint tabs ensures all tabs remain accessible, regardless of the number of tabs or the window width.

  • The Completed property in a course assignment now updates as expected when using the UpdateCourseAssignment endpoint.
  • The GetOrganization endpoint now includes an Enabled property.

Lab launches: The Limit Maximum Lab Launches per Delivery options works as expected when lab activities are limited to only one launch.

Lab profiles: Lab authors with proper permissions can now update VM lab profile disk changes without entering notes for each VM, streamlining the save process and reducing errors.

Text Swap Panel: The Text Swap Panel in the Instructions Editor now supports dynamic resizing and hover tooltips for improved visibility and accuracy when editing content.

Insights Enhancements

Azure: Resolved intermittent Azure launch failures by updating subscription and resource group management to wait for resource allocations to complete before continuing processing.

Invoicing: Invoices under 0 will now be filtered out from the Skillable Invoices page, as these invoices will not be billed to customers, helping reduce clutter and improve clarity.

TMS Enhancements

Accessibility

  • Added ARIA parent roles to top navigation bar elements (e.g., My Training, Classes, Contact) to improve assistive technology support.
  • Added the Resource section to the Course Assignment Details View in TMS so course resources can be accessed directly from active course assignments.

  • Updated the user dashboard date filtering to now support date ranges effectively.
  • Updated the user dashboard grid to support dynamic filtering, sorting, and pagination.

Authoring

  • Made VM notes optional when saving lab profile changes for users with the correct permissions.
  • Enhanced the text swap panel to support dynamic resizing and hover tooltips for better readability and accuracy.

Usability: Updated referenced activity logic to now display all activities within referenced groups and made “All Activities” the default tab.

TMS Enhancements

Accessibility

  • Updated the Redeem Training Key field to be announced by screen readers as a required field.
  • Improved heading roles for Badges and Achievements on the Student Dashboard to support accurate screen reader tracking.
  • Enabled wider text spacing on Active Class Titles and Course Assignment Names to prevent truncation.
  • Added underlines to links on the Class Enrollment screen and related views for clearer visual distinction.

Usability: Corrected the validation message when the Program field is left as “Choose Program” during course creation; the message now correctly states “The Program field is required.”

Administration: Added an Edit User Group dialog, allowing Super Users to more easily add or remove users from User Groups directly.

Release Highlights

User dashboard: Studio's updated dashboard highlights quick actions, personalized Lab Advisor recommendations, and an improved lab grid for managing labs.

Instructions Editor: Lab authors using Markdown (code mode) have a ribbon bar with formatting shortcuts for faster instructions editing.

Lab themes: Lab authors can test labs with different themes at launch time, without altering the default profile theme.

Revert VMs via API (beta): Lab instructors and admins can restore lab VMs to a prior state using a new beta API endpoint.

Custom VM Endpoints (beta): Labs support direct connection (via SSH, RDP, and HTTP/S) to VM endpoints with a tab-based interface, persistent sessions, and nested VM support.

TMS Enhancements

Publishing Groups: Error messages have been improved to show more details, when attempting to delete a Publishing Group.

Accessibility

  • When using the on-screen keyboard has been updated to allow scrolling with the keyboard for pages that are displayed in an iframe.
  • The User License Agreement has been updated with an ARIA label that allows screen readers to read the contents and enables the user to navigate and interact with the page more effectively.
  • The dashboard has been updated to have the proper contrast ratio when viewing the top navigation buttons or viewing the Last Modified date on the User License Agreement.
  • The top navigation bar elements have been updated with an ARIA parent role, to inform assistive technologies to treat them like interactive elements.

Studio Enhancements

Lab profiles

  • Lab Profile details pages have been updated to show all Life Cycle Actions that are configured on the Lab Profile. This simplifies Lab Profile management and ensures lab authors are making informed decisions with Lab Profiles.
  • Lab Profile export performance has been improved to prevent erroneous clicking when confirming the export dialog.
